Here at Western Training, we cover skills for mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
Western Training can provide training for particpants of all skill levels:
Full course – 1/2 day course (4 hour day)
We are a nationally recognised training organisation, candidates that successfully complete the course will be provided with a statement of attainment and competency card for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
Courses can be performed at the candidate’s worksite provided adequate equipment is available to conduct the assessment.
Requirements
Must have good verbal and written comprehension of the English language
Must have good general health and fitness for practicals
Must wear long sleeved shirt, long leg pants and steel cap boots
Must hold a USI (unique student identifier) number.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy
