Western Training’s RII40720 Certificate IV in Civil Construction (Supervision) is a nationally recognized qualification in Australia that provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to supervise civil construction projects. This qualification is designed for people who are working or aspiring to work in supervisory roles in the civil construction industry.

The course covers a range of topics, including project planning and management, quality control, risk management, workplace health and safety, and leadership and communication. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge required to plan and coordinate civil construction projects, manage project teams, and ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

To complete this qualification, learners must complete a total of 12 units = 5 core units plus 7 elective units.

The core units cover essential topics such as:

  • Demonstrating leadership in the workplace
  • Coordinating business operational plans, Implementing and monitoring WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements, Supervision of civil works
  • Applying site risk management systems

 

This qualification is suitable for people who are already working in the civil construction industry and looking to advance their careers, as well as for people who are new to the industry and looking to gain the skills and knowledge required to work in supervisory roles.

Entry Requirements

Participants who wish to apply for this qualification will need to be physically fit, please speak with the supervisor if you have any fitness issues that may impede your training. Additionally, all participants will undergo a suitability discussion and language, literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment to ensure that any learning needs are identified.
