Course Overview
The Combined Load, Unload & Secure Cargo course is part of our General Courses training, designed for individuals working in transport, logistics, warehousing, and construction environments. This course provides practical skills in managing cargo safely and efficiently across various industries.
- TLIA1001 Secure Cargo – This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to secure cargo in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements as part of work activities within the industry. It includes preparing to secure cargo or containers, lashing and unlashing cargo, protecting cargo from weather, and packing and unpacking cargo. Work is performed under some supervision, generally within a team environment.
- TLID0015 Load and Unload Goods/Cargo – This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to load and unload goods and/or cargo. It includes safely performing load and unload tasks, securing and protecting cargo, and completing documentation in line with roads and traffic authority regulations and permit requirements. Work is performed under general supervision within a team environment.
The training is suitable for a range of work situations, including but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading vehicles and containers
- Warehouse and freight handling operations
- Transport and logistics operations
- Cargo protection for short- and long-distance deliveries
- Work environments with manual or mechanical load movement
Western Training provides training for individuals of all skill levels. Our training is conducted at a specialised facility designed to simulate a live work site to ensure a seamless transition from a training environment to an active work site.

Delivery
The unit consists of a theoretical and practical assessment witnessed by a qualified assessor.

Requirements
- Must have good verbal and written comprehension of the English language
- Must have good general health and fitness for practicals
- Must wear long sleeved shirt, long leg pants and steel cap boots
- Must hold a USI (unique student identifier) number
