Course Overview
Licence to Operate Slewing Mobile Crane (over 100 Tonnes) is part of our High Risk training delivery we provide as an individual unit. This is a good ticket for those looking to enter the construction or mining industries.
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) over 100 tonnes in accordance with all relevant legislative responsibilities.
Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant. A person performing this work is required to hold a slewing mobile crane with an MRC over 100 tonnes HRWL. New HRWL applications incur a fee of $90.00, existing HRWL applications incur a fee of $45.10, Interstate transfer or the renewal of a HRWL incur a fee of $135.10 + $15.00 for a passport photo. Each of the above incur an additional $25.00 processing fee.
Slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed, but does not include:
- A front-end loader, or

- An excavator, or
- Other earth moving equipment, when configured for crane operation.
This unit requires a person operating a slewing mobile crane with an MRC over 100 tonnes to:
