Course Overview
Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations is part of our Plant Operations training delivery we provide as an individual unit. The Excavator is also known as a Digger. This is a good ticket for those looking to enter the civil construction industry or become a plant operator.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials. This unit applies to those working in site-based roles. This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.
This unit covers:
- Plan and prepare for excavator operations
- Operate excavator in line with established requirements
- Lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity
- Select, remove, fit and use attachments for a excavator
- Prepare to relocate the excavator
- Conduct housekeeping activities
Western Training provides training for operators of all skill levels. Our training is conducted at a specialised facility designed to simulate a live work site to ensure a seamless transition from a training environment to an active work site.
